Journal for Christian theology and religious studies

KS Studies

KS Studies is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes original articles on Christian theology and religious studies.

This is an open access journal – no fees or paywall – that is published in the English language by the Faculty of Theology of the University of South Bohemia. Articles are made available online as soon as the review and preparation process is completed. Issues are completed and published twice a year.

The journal's name refers to the prominent Czech theologian and religionist Karel Skalický (1934), who left former Czechoslovakia in the 1950s during the communist totalitarianism and was exiled to Rome, where he became a professor at the Lateran University. For many years, he also served as editor-in-chief of the journal Studie (1958-1991), published in Rome, which became an important platform for developing Christian theology and religious studies. After the fall of communism in Eastern Europe, Karel Skalický returned to his homeland (now the Czech Republic), and to this day he is Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Theology of the University of South Bohemia.

In the spirit of the former journal Studie, the journal KS Studies seeks to develop theology and religious studies on the principles of openness and freedom of research, thus contributing to deepening the international dimension of science.
